In 2025, an inspiring cultural journey began in Cherokee, North Carolina, inviting visitors to connect deeply with both the land and its storied heritage. Visit Cherokee became more than just a destination—it became a place where discovery meets spirit, where history whispers through mountain mists, and adventure awaits around every bend of the river. As Creative Director, I was entrusted with revitalizing the brand, shaping visitor experiences, and guiding the imaginative launch of the "Find Your Spirit" campaign.
The new Visit Cherokee logo blends cultural authenticity with modern visual appeal. At its core, the feather symbolizes heritage, storytelling, and connection, while subtle references to the Smoky Mountains and rivers within the design anchor the logo firmly in place. The refined color palette draws inspiration from the Cherokee landscape, evoking natural warmth, spirituality, and vitality.
Leading a talented team of art directors and copywriters, I guided a comprehensive ideation process. Together, we identified and explored essential elements unique to Cherokee, including the profound cultural roots of the Cherokee people, their deep spirituality, an intrinsic connection to nature, and the remarkable variety of experiences offered by the destination. Through iterative brainstorming sessions, concept refinements, and collaborative creative discussions, these insights culminated in the resonant and impactful campaign: "Find Your Spirit."
The central campaign, "Find Your Spirit," invites visitors to explore Cherokee in ways that resonate deeply with personal discovery and cultural enrichment. Each touchpoint, from digital content and print advertising to experiential events, inspires audiences to connect with Cherokee’s rich traditions, scenic adventures, and vibrant community life.
